About Us

Based at the University of Edinburgh, the Scottish Allergy and Respiratory Academy (SARA) provides respiratory and allergy education for healthcare professionals, researchers, students, and professionals working in fields related to respiratory and allergic disorders.

Our courses

SARA educational meetings are day long training courses held throughout the year in locations across Scotland, often with the option for delegates to join remotely via videoconferencing. Our courses are free to attend for nurses and associated healthcare professionals.

Free online resources

Supporting our in-person training, SARA also provides online educational resources. All presentations from SARA educational meetings are video-recorded and uploaded as free webcasts to the SARA YouTube channel, which currently hosts over 20 hours of free video content.  Our other online resources include signposting to guidance and useful links for healthcare professionals and people affected by respiratory and allergic disorders.

Who we work with

SARA courses frequently involve collaboration with researchers and healthcare professionals at the Asthma UK Centre for Applied Research and the Children and Young Peoples Allergy Network Scotland (CYANS).

Help shape our curriculum

The SARA team are keen to hear from course delegates and healthcare professionals across Scotland in order to build upon the educational opportunities offered at the Academy.
